Overnight postpartum doula care allows you to get the rest you need to better care for your baby during the day.

My role as your overnight postpartum doula:

My services will vary each day with your unique needs, but there are core elements of overnight newborn care that are nearly always present:

  • If you are breastfeeding I will bring your baby to you and support and encourage you at feedings. If your baby is bottle-fed or you have pumped breast milk, I can feed your baby.

  • After baby feeds I will change, swaddle and soothe your baby back to sleep.

  • If the situation allows, I can tidy up the kitchen and prepare healthy snacks for you for the night and the following day.

  • Often, I fold baby laundry and spend time gathering resources that you might need.

  • When your baby is sleeping and chores are finished, I will sit down and rest. If your baby is having a particularly rough night, my focus will be on making your little one comfortable and tending to their needs.

The reason behind it all......

As your Birth Doula, I am an unquestioning participant who can remain focused on the birthing mother’s well-being. My goal is to empower my client to protect her memories of her birth. I am solely there for the emotional well-being of the mother. Doctors, nurses and other medical staff have breaks, shift changes, clinical responsibilities, office hours and hospital policies that need to be adhered to. As your Doula, I have no other responsibilities. I stay throughout the birth process until your baby is brought into this world. The mother’s needs are my sole responsibility. My agenda consists of making sure that the parent’s birth plan is acknowledged and followed as much as possible. I want to make your birth experience as rewarding and satisfying as possible. I live less than 3 miles of Garnet Health Medical Center but am also available throughout the Hudson Valley and bordering NJ.

I am a mother of 5…. yes 5 children (4 are adults and my youngest is elementary age). 3 of them, I gave birth to, the other 2 I have been blessed to raise with my husband of 15 years and are no less my children than the 3 I carried for 9 months. I have had 3 very different birth / early parenting experiences. My 1st 2 (17 months apart) I had in my mid-20’s and my last daughter (the one my husband and I biologically share) at 35. My focus in life has always been raising children. I went to college for fashion but yet I have been working with children since I had by 2nd at 26. Infant care has always been second nature to me. This alone as driven me to be a Doula. I was trained through DONA International. In addition, I spent almost 20 years working within the special needs populations. I spent over a decade working in the Early Invention Program of which I will advocate the effectiveness for the rest of my life. I also spent time working in a preschool coordinating the evaluation process for special education and ensuring that the children there were receiving the services that they needed. My goal as a Postpartum Doula is to give you and your family the attention and knowledge needed to make informed decisions during the first weeks and months of bring home baby. Services

I have created packages to provide families an idea of what overnight Doula support can look like. I am willing to work with families to create a plan based on their anticipated needs and budget. I will also work with parents to complete paperwork for health insurance reimbursement (if they hold a policy that covers it) as well as FSA/HSA reimbursement. It is also important to note that I am very health and germ conscious and prefer packages to be 4 nights as so that you would be the only client that I am working with during that time period. With 3 nights a week of less, I am not able to guarantee that. The nights for packages are Monday through Thursday with the exception of the first week as I will be there to support you the night you come home and the 2 immediate nights following. Weekends (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) are available at $5/hr extra per hour.
